Why We Moved On from Gold

Externally, gold prices became unpredictable, tightening supply chains and complicating planning. Internally, we saw batch-to-batch color variation, and gold’s softness meant fine scratches during handling.
We had to ask: are we using gold because it’s best, or just because it’s what we’ve always done?
What We Found When We Tested
We tested stainless steel side by side with gold—same core components, only the protection board changed.
The results? Durability improved. Stainless steel’s hardness eliminates fine scratches during handling and installation. Color is now consistent across every batch—no more explaining why batteries ordered months apart look different. And the finish lasts longer, staying pristine from factory floor to years of use.
We took it further: a newly designed spacer delivers even tighter dimensional consistency and tolerances.
